Giant silk-cotton trees swallowing stone walls. The most photogenic temple. Visit the 'Angelina Jolie tree' — the famous doorway from the film.

Lunch at Mahob Khmer

Traditional Khmer cuisine in a wooden house. Try the fish amok ($6) and morning glory stir-fry ($4). Reserve the garden table.

Banteay Kdei & Srah Srang

Quieter temple with beautiful carvings. Then walk to Srah Srang — the royal bathing pool. Good spot to rest and photograph the water.

Sunset at Phnom Bakheng

Hilltop temple with panoramic sunset views over Angkor Wat. Limited to 300 visitors — arrive by 4:30 PM. Steep climb, about 15 min.

Pub Street & Night Market

Lively strip in old town. $0.50 draft beers, street-side fish BBQ, and insect carts if you dare. Pick up souvenirs at the night market next door.
